Happenings

Trying to get pictures of a 2 year-old smiling while sitting still and a 1 1/2 month old smiling necessitates this picture overload. Thanks to Emily and April for the dresses and Michelle for the sweater!
So our little girls are just amazing! I'm a mother-I get to brag. Abi has grown up so much in the past few weeks. While Richard was back in DC for 6 terribly long days, we eliminated the bottle, got her big girl bed up off the floor and into a frame, and started potty training. Now a week and a half later she has been dry for 3 days! She is doing so awesome! She is one of my best friends and I just love her. She takes such good care of me and is just a sweet little thing. She loves Kate so much too. Abi loves to count and can get up to 19. About 2 weeks ago she was only successfully counting to 3. She is excited about Christmas but I don't think she knows exactly what to expect.
Kate has grown a lot too. I moved her to her crib while Richard was gone and she knows how to sleep through the night--she doesn't do it every night but she seems to more often than not. Kate is a super smiley baby. If she isn't tired or hungry and you smile at her you'll usually get a really big smile back. She laughs and coos and gurgles and is just too stinkin cute. I love giving her chubby cheeks kisses and I love cuddling with her.I love her so much too and I am so happy to have her in our family! She started really trying to grasp at toys this week which has been fun. She loves bedtime storytime with Abi. One of us lays down with the two girls in Abi's bed and reads and she seems to love it!
We are so happy to have Richard back from his trip and hope that he doesn't have to travel more. I'm still learning how to survive with 2 kids. some days are so much easier than others. I just became the Relief Society Chorister--hmm... yeah . . .I'm so not good at it.
Anyway, we're looking forward to Christmas this week!

What Abi said to me...

Abi brought me a bottle the other day and asked me to fill it with milk so she could give it to her baby. Problem was...she wanted me to fill it with my milk--not milk from the fridge. Silly thing.

Can I just say FABULOUS? That is how our day was--1/3 the time of labor as last time, a fabulous epidural, awesome Dr. Berry, great nurses, and a little 6 lb bundle of joy named Kate Esther. FABULOUS

Can I just say Cute?

I think she is the cutest thing ever, even if she won't look at the camera anymore and let me take a picture of the dress I so painstakingly made for her! I loves you Miss Abi!

Secrets

Just because someone thinks a secret is stupid, they are not justified in telling anyone else. It is still a secret!

Plug for Great Services

2 companies I VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND:

Capital Assets Utah Valley
Sam Partridge
801-370-9877
Sam is so open and honest. We have used him to fix our mortgage problems and we are now sitting well with less than a 5% interest rate. If you buy a home or want to refinance--give him a call.

Ackerson Eye Care
John Ackerson
736 W 100 SHeber City, UT 84032-3739(435) 657-1212
So it is a drive up to Heber but so worth it. He is so knowledgeable and he remembers my eyes (i guess I have peculiar eyes) and he helps me find the best comfort/fit contacts every time. Definitely worth the drive.

Please Spread the Word

So Richard's company is doing something really cool and I would love you forever if you spread the word. They do translations now through ancestry.com - meaning if you have an old diary from some great grandparent in a foreign language, they can translate it for you. I don't have any prizes to give away but if you post something about it on your blog, I'll love you forever. You can direct others to wstranslation.com

Thanks!

Funny things

Last week Abi was asking for treats and I said "not now." She then said "Papa's House." She knows where the treats are at.

We have one of those new gospel art picture books and at the end there is a page with all the Prophets. We've shown that to Abi and she knows they are Prophets so at church on Sunday Abi pointed to the older gentleman behind us and yelled out "Prophet!"

He Did it!

This is how Richard feels about finally getting his diploma:
Hooray! Happy Day! We are so proud of Daddy for his accomplishments at school and at work. He is awesome in our book and if you don't think so too then you are just soooo missing out.

I need Ideas. . .

So, does anyone have any great ideas that helped transition the first child to the addition of the second??? Everyone has said get her a baby doll but she already has one and she LOVES it and i think getting a new one would be confusing. Anything special I should pack in her away bag while we are in the hospital???

Unattentive, Ignorant, and Integrity Lacking Parents!

Ahhhhh! So we went to Thanksgiving Points Dinosaur Museum (everything on Tuesdays was $2.00 a person in August) last night and at the Erosion Table (a big sand and water play area) some 3ish year old boy grabbed a big ball of sand and hit Abi smack in the face. Of course, there were no parents around to notice. Me and my big belly had to climb into the kiddy area and rescue the screaming Abi (did i mention the sand/water mix has chlorine in it?) Ok, so I'm overprotective on a regular basis but I'm feeling huge and sooooooo pregnant and you just don't mess with my kid. I know accidents happen but it soooo wasn't an accident and the most frustrating part is where is his parents???
Ok, and my other raving is when we had our yard sale a few weeks back, I remember hearing some commotion by our mailbox and I looked up to see a mother and daughter looking at me really funny like. Later I realized the little girl had broken off the part of our mailbox that tells the postperson to pick up the mail and the funny look they were giving me was a "I hope she didn't just see that" look. Come on? Where is your integrity? Just tell me. Geez. So now I get to buy a new mailbox--so even though I made some money on the yard sale, I'll have to use half of it to get a stinking new mailbox when I would so rather spend it on other things. Either that or never mail anything. Hmmm..maybe none of you will get Christmas cards...
Hmmm....hopefully after the baby my hormone levels will be more normal so things like this won't bother me quite as much...
