How did I miss these?

Here are some Abi-isms I never got on the blog:
"I dis get married in temple"
"I Can't do it. my hair so pretty."
"that's 3 many too many"
"i really want to clean my room"
"oh my gosh! i just wanna dance!"
"you're my mommy and you are Kate Kate's mommy and you are Daddy's mommy."
Garett: "Hey stinker!"Abi: "I'm not stinker. I'm Abigail!"
While putting her hands on Daddy's cheeks "I know we can do this!" (quote from tinkerbell)
"pretty good i think"
"Abi's are for cleaning the floor" (is that so?)

Kate's newest nicknames are Goof and pigskin (because she fits into the crook of your arm just like a football).
She eats like 3 times as much as Abi. Luckily she has forgotten her love for happy screams. Yah for parents abilities to hear!

These girls sure crack us up.

Sweet Things

So here is the new book. I need some HONEST OPINIONS. I feel like a loser. I can't sell anything. I have tried as much word of mouth as I can for my etsy stuff. I've paid for advertising and had no sales in return. What do I need to do? Does my stuff suck? Do I charge too little. Too Much? Am I just not cool enough to sell things? What should I do? Is this book pattern even worth posting on etsy? What do you think? Oh, and yes I know that Lemons aren't sweet but I like lemons and I wanted it included. So there.

Patience

While trying to get Abi (who is 2 1/2 mind you) to eat lunch the other day, she turns to me and says: "Mom, I'm teaching you patience."
Yes smarty pants child of mine, you are.

Felt Book

So I made a felt book for my soon-to-be newest niece for Christmas. It was SOOOO fun& easy to make. The pattern and book are available at my etsy shop - Modish Podish

I'm working on my next pattern. Abi wanted this book SOOOO bad. Kate kept wanting it to but I'm mean and wouldn't let them touch it. I'll make them their own special one. Abi's book is called "Sweet Things" and it should be ready in about a week.

Purging.....

Downstairs Purge complete. At least 8 Rubbermaid 18 gallon FULL bins taken out. Feels soooo incredible. On to garage and organizing everything for a killer yard sale. So excited to be free of the burden of extra junk. You should try it. It is exhilarating.

YARD SALE

Anyone want to do a combined yard sale--next saturday the 12th? It will be summerfest and LOTS of traffic in our neighborhood. If you live nearby and have a d.i. pile I can come pick that up for you, or you can come spend the morning with me or whatever.

You Suck

Thanksgiving Point, You SUCK! Am I the only one who hates Thanksgiving Point and its sense of Superiority and Snobbishness? Yes Thanksgiving Point, you are trying to eliminate people that are "Low Class" like me from attending events on your property and yes, it works. I will not pay your outrageous fees for things that used to be free when held elsewhere.

My favorite funny yet...

While putting on my makeup this morning Abigail says to me: "Are you trying to make yourself pretty?" I say "uh huh." She watches me for a minute and then says "It's not working."
What a stinker!

Why I'm such a Germ-A-Phobe

This...

is the reason I'm such a germ-a-phobe. When we get sick. We are sick forever--not because we're passing it around, but because each of us hangs onto the sickness forever. My poor kids get it from me. A little cold takes weeks to get over. In the last case--almost 3 weeks.

This last cold, Abi slept more than she has since she was a newborn. The above picture is of her falling asleep on the floor. She was miserable--even though she still looks cute.

What makes it worse when we get sick is I don't leave the house. Just because other people are rude and take their sick kids out, doesn't mean I'm going to be--although I'm often tempted. And, to top it off, Abi always has a cough after every cold that only comes on while she sleeps that lasts for an additional 2-3 weeks. Fabulous eh?

So that is why we don't go out much, don't interact with people who are Always sick, and why my hands are so bad from washing my hands 100 times a day.

Don't you feel that whenever you trim all of your kids fingernails and toenails that you deserve an award? Man, is that ever hard work!

No, my husband doesn't beat me...

It sure looks like it though...this is just this weeks bruises. What do i get them from? Who knows. I bruise very easily. Lovely eh?
Just thought you'd like to know...in case you see me in shorts anytime soon. Somebody should tell the snow that it is short season. I think the snow is about as absent-minded as I am and it just forgot.

2 Good News Items for Today

So first, Richard's company got a sale. It's small. But it's still the 1st sale! If you stretched it among everyone...well, i don't think it would stretch that far. But now there is HOPE that someday our pay will get caught up--hopefully before we loose our house and have to move to Mozambique.

And second, my PURGE of upstairs is complete! Hooray for throwing things away! I love opening closets, cupboards, drawers and finding then pleasantly much less than full. It's a wonderful feeling!
Now I'm on to the basement, then garage, then shed and then I'll probably start over again. Too bad I don't have any big ticket items anymore that are worthy of any real money. Anyone want to do a yard sale? I don't have enough stuff for my own. Jenna's with me. Anyone else?

Anyone else have good news for today????

Awesome Family Pictures

Richards cousin Stephanie took our pictures recently. Didn't they turn out amazing? I am soooooo impressed. I can't believe she got Abi to look at the camera AND smile. It was such a cold windy day but she made picture taking so fun.

I LOVE this one. I love her "Seventies" photoshopping skills. Awesome Stephanie. Thanks!
I stole this off her website. Hope she doesn't mind. Isn't she totally underpriced? You should schedule an appointment before she realizes that she needs to charge way more. :)

Smore's & Zoo

We went to the zoo with my sister Tawni and her sons Garett & Riley the day before the funeral. It was fun but COME ON Hogle Zoo --your zoo is as my niece Maddie would say-- "LAME." The animals are bored and seem unhappy and there is like only 1 of each type in there. Give them some playmates. For $9 a person, I'd think you could do something more impressive. Anyway... here are some pics.

Daddy & Kate hanging out
Isn't she adorable? Garett LOVED Kate! So did Riley

After the funeral on Saturday, My brother Kyle and Sister Tawni, her kids and my mom all stayed the night. We had yummy S'mores in the backyard.

The Funeral

It is weird to say a funeral was wonderful but my Grandfather's funeral was wonderful. I felt sooooo much peace at the viewing the night before, and at the funeral and burial. Grandpa lived a great life and he was SO ready to move on. I of course miss him and always will but I can still hear him saying "Now Deedle" and I can still see him playing with the girls. I'm really glad my family was able to come and that I could interact with my siblings and most of my nieces and nephews.
Abi & her Great Grandma
The whole fam: (Grandpa wanted us to all wear white so it looked like we were all in the temple)
Eating at the luncheon. Lovely picture of me eh?
The burial:

Some Navy dudes came and played Taps (that is what its called right?) and folded the flag. It was really cool to know how valiantly Grandpa had fought for our country and how much he suffered the rest of his life because of his service. He was exposed to the bomb at Hiroshima and had undergone hundreds of surgeries over the years from the cancer that resulted.

Mothers Day

We had a great "Mother's Day." It was a very busy, hectic day but so much fun. My family was in town for my Grandpa's funeral and so we shared Mother's day together at our house.

Richard eating at the kiddie table. What a sweetheart! The kids loved it.

It was a great day. It was so fun having my family around. It was so nice to see our home and yard full of kids having fun. Tony & Richard played dodge ball with Alex & Spencer. When I heard they were going to play all I could think of was the snowball fight on "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs." Luckily, there were no casualties. Just lots and lots of fun.
